Review by hotel critic
During my recent week at Hotel Mota in Livigno, I appreciated the direct ski-in, ski-out access, which is perfect for those looking to hit the slopes. The location is prime, placed centrally and close to shops, making it easy to grab essentials or enjoy a night out. The hotel features a nice restaurant and a cozy bar area, ideal for unwinding after a day of snowboarding. While the welcome was warm, the hospitality could have been more consistent; some staff appeared a bit short on communication. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory, with ample choices, but not necessarily extravagant. My room, though spacious, felt constricted and lacked sufficient storage for our luggage. I'd recommend asking for a room at the back if you're a light sleeper, as noise can occasionally seep in from the busy street. Pricing is a significant factor. At around £1200 for four nights, it felt steep given the room size and the occasional inconveniences. Considering its location and amenities-like an indoor pool and spa facilities-I wouldn't completely rule out its value for convenience seekers. Hotel Mota offers an experience that balances luxury and practical considerations, though savvy travelers might find better-value options.
